All over the world Marriage Custom

The day of your wedding is mostly a time for friends and family to come together and watch two people commit their very own lives to one another. It’s also every day of tradition and ceremonies, some of which are easy going and funny, whilst some are taken very really and not being mocked.

Some of these practices have already been around for the purpose of hundreds of years and still in practice today, while other people have become more modern trends. From jumping over the broom to seeing your future spouse naked before the wedding ceremony, we’ve collected a few of the world’s oddest marriage custom so that you can check out.

From Indonesia to Papua New Guinea, these wedding ceremony traditions move a little bit more severe than throwing rice and blossom petals. In Papua New Guinea, men fresh paint their bodies with feathers, sing mating cries trying to woo the female members of the tribe in a routine known as the Sing-Sing. Once the bride-to-be accepts the proposal, the groom requires her on a procession to the marriage venue, which in turn involves him being hoisted on the shoulder muscles of different men in the village.

Before the commemoration in a matrilineal society, members of the bride’s family offer her a silver bill as a sign of their take pleasure in for her. If perhaps she will keep it during her life, irrational belief says she could never knowledge economic difficulties. In China, a possible husband sets his bride with a bow and (head-less) arrow, collecting every single arrow and breaking them during the commemoration, to ensure that all their love continues forever.
